With Jesus Yoga we make available the ancient and hidden techniques of christian meditation that have never ever been completly publicly available before in history.
Christian meditation is based on techniques that already have been in use by Abraham, Job and many of the famous prophets and leaders of the old testament.
Jesus included and perfected the techniques and tought them his disciples.
The Apostle Mark, one of his 12 Apostles who also wrote the Gospel of Mark in the bible, went to Egypt and teached the knowledge and techniques.
In the solitude of the dessert the famous Desert Fathers cultivated the techniques and passed them on from teacher to student, from generation to generation.
Around Mount Athos monks build 20 Monastries and established on their peninsula their own monk republik. They all practise the christian meditation techniques.

And in Russia the Starets are well known, they are venerated advisers and teachers whose wisdom stems from God as obtained from ascetic experience and the meditation practise. Through ascetic struggle, prayer meditation and Hesychasm (seclusion or withdrawal), the Holy Spirit bestows special gifts onto the Starets, including the ability to heal, prophesy, and most importantly, give effective spiritual guidance and direction.
Starets are not appointed by any authority; they are simply recognized by the faithful as being people "of the Spirit". A Staret, when not in prayer or in voluntary seclusion, receives visitors (some who travel very far). Many of them have a reputation amidst believers of being able to know the secrets of a person's heart without having ever previously met the visitor, and having the ability to discern God's plan for a person's life. This, as all of the Starets's gifts, which comes from the Holy Spirit acting through the Starets.

Prostration prayer
The practice of prostration prayer is a very old and biblical form of prayer. It includes the whole body, breath and mind. Beside the spiritual benefit there is a huge health benefit too. To do a series of prostration includes also a a complete bodyworkout.
Jesus used this form of prayer:
>Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”< Mt 26,39
This is the form of prayer and communication that was already in use in Old Testament:
1 Moses 17,3 >Abram fell facedown, and God said to him,....<
1 Moses 17,17 >Abraham fell facedown;.........<
Josua 4,14 >Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence,<
We can alsofind some discriptions about posture:
1 Kings 18 >Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees<
About movement
1 Samuel 20,41 >and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times<
About breath
4 Moses 16,22 >Moses and Aaron fell facedown and cried out, “O God, the God who gives breath to all living things,<
About the apearance of the glory of the Lord:
4 Moses,6 >Moses and Aaron went from the assembly to the entrance to the tent of meeting and fell facedown, and the glory of the Lord appeared to them.<
... more can be found in Bible.
There are different forms of prostrations that can be used.. In our Daily Jesus Yoga program we use prostration forms that have been in use in india for a long time. They are specialy good as an included body workout.
